Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Aether collects when you use our social media agent platform at aether.so, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Effective date: August 1, 2026
1. Who we are
Aether (“Aether,” “we,” “us”) provides an AI-assisted social media workspace at https://aether.so. The product helps businesses and creators schedule and publish posts, draft replies, run campaigns, crawl knowledge and competitor sites, store media, and manage leads across Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok, Telegram, and Reddit.
Privacy questions: privacy@aether.so.
2. Scope
This policy covers the Aether website, dashboard, APIs, tracker scripts, and related services. It does not cover third-party social networks once content is published there—their policies apply to data they hold.
3. Information we collect
Account & workspace. Name, email, avatar, preferred locale, authentication identifiers, company and workspace names, membership roles, and invitation emails.
Device & session. Device identifiers, device name/platform, user agent, and hashed IP addresses associated with sessions.
Social connections. Connected account metadata (platform, username, display name, external account IDs, scopes) and access credentials needed to act on your behalf, stored encrypted. We do not collect social network passwords.
Content you create. Posts, captions, schedules, publish status, media (images and videos), inbox items (comments, DMs, mentions), campaigns, brand voice, knowledge sources and extracted text, competitor profiles and AI-generated reports, and planner items.
Tracking & CRM. Custom tracking links and click metadata (hashed IP, user agent, referrer, coarse device/country when available); website tracker sessions and events (page views, form submits); lead fields such as email, phone, company, message, and custom form fields when you enable lead capture or connect a lead webhook.
Billing. Subscription plan, add-ons, payment status, and payment-provider identifiers. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by Aether as raw card numbers.
AI usage. Limited operational metrics about AI feature use. Prompt and completion content may be processed by our AI providers to deliver features (compose, replies, planner, reports, search) and is not sold as advertising data.
4. How we use information
- Provide, secure, and improve the Service (publishing, inbox, media, analytics).
- Authenticate users and enforce company/workspace permissions.
- Connect to social APIs you authorize and publish or sync content on your behalf.
- Generate AI drafts, reports, and search over knowledge you ingest.
- Attribute campaign traffic and store CRM leads you configure.
- Process subscriptions, invoices, and plan entitlements.
- Prevent abuse, debug issues, and comply with law.
5. Legal bases (EEA/UK where applicable)
We process personal data where needed to perform our contract with you, with your consent (for example certain OAuth connections or marketing), for legitimate interests such as securing the Service and improving product reliability, and where required by law.
6. Service providers & subprocessors
We use carefully selected service providers to operate Aether. They may process personal data only as needed to provide their services to us, typically in these categories:
- Authentication and identity providers
- Payment and billing processors
- Cloud hosting, databases, and file storage
- AI model and inference providers
- Social platforms you choose to connect — including Meta (Instagram, Facebook, Threads), X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Reddit, and Telegram — under their terms and your authorization grants
If you configure a lead webhook URL on your workspace, lead payloads are sent to that destination under your control.
8. Retention
We retain account, workspace, content, media, billing, and log data for as long as your account is active and as needed for backups, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data subject to retention required by law or legitimate security needs. Tracking and CRM records follow your workspace configuration and deletion requests.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest for sensitive credentials, restrict access by role within companies and workspaces, and never store social network passwords. See our Security page for more detail.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of personal data, and to object to certain processing or withdraw consent. Contact privacy@aether.so. You may also disconnect social accounts in the dashboard and stop using the Service.
11. Children
Aether is built for business and creator use. The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. International transfers
We and our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will post the revised effective date on this page and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
